International Clinical Trials Day first started on the 20th May 2005 and it was designed to highlight the importance of clinical research and clinical trials and ultimately lead to improved clinical practice worldwide. May 20 was the date in 1747 when James Lind started comparing six treatments for scurvy , in what is recognised to be the first known example of a clinical trial. A day for discussion among patients, clinicians, researchers, sponsors and all involved in the clinical research process. |
